Why is live performance essential for ITZY Yeji? In an interview, the fourth-gen K-pop idol expressed her pride in their stage despite high-level choreographies.

ITZY Yeji Highlights Significance of Live Performance

In the December issue of Cosmopolitan, pre-released on November 23, Yeji, who graced the magazine as one of its featured artists, surprised with her elegant charm with a chic and minimalist style.

In her photos, ITZY Yeji made impressive poses and facial expressions, exuding naturalness in front of the camera like a pro.

During the pictorial, it was mentioned that the idol received abundant praise from the staff and production team.

Following the shoot, Yeji sat down for a brief interview with the magazine and answered questions related to the theme, "pride."

As a hexagonal idol who is known to be good at everything she's doing, Yeji revealed that she has pride in what she does.

"I love how I look on stage. I also monitor myself a lot, pointing out things like, 'Oh, this is pretty good.' 'Oh, this wasn't good.'

I have pride in the work I do, accept compliments well, and try to fill in my shortcomings objectively. There is a sense of pleasure when I keep my promise to myself while saying, 'I did it!"

As the leader of the girl group ITZY, Yeji then pointed out that her pride as a group member was ITZY doing its best to have live performances regardless of how hard their choreographies are.

"I'm proud. Whenever we receive the title song, we ask, "How can we sing this song while dancing?" But, we do it every time we come back. Our performances involved lying down, sitting down, and jumping, so it takes a lot of training to do a stable live performance. I sing while dancing in the practice room.

After pouring it all out, I'm proud that I can see that I did my best on stage. To me, dance live is ITZY's pride. We will continue to stick to it in the future."

She then mentioned the essence of performing live.

"Performing live makes the stage a lot more fun. You can sing it differently/alter it from what you originally sang, or you can add something new. It can make the audience more excited."

Yeji Shares What ITZY Is To Her

As the interview went on, Yeji also showed affection to her group by describing what kind of group ITZY is for her.

"A great team. First of all, I think we're good at our main job. It's a pride not only for me but also for the members.

Our strength is the performance that is powerful, harmonious and can give viewers pleasure. I also have a lot of pride in every member.

She added:

I think that each member of ITZY has a unique personality and that all of them have outstanding skills. Even when we do individual activities, we monitor each other and praise each other when we feel discouraged.

We protect each other's self-esteem. When it comes to ITZY, it is all about ‘confidence.’”
