In an online community, an internet user sparked a debate when they started a poll asking about Jisoo being "talentless."

In the so-called survey, which amassed over 80k views, the OP asked:

"Jisoo is often mentioned as a 'talentless' idol among third-generation. Do you really think Jisoo is 'incompetent'?"

Upon posting, about 600 netters down-voted the post, refuting this claim. But the alarming point was the idol received about 800 up-votes, agreeing to the remark that Jisoo is lacking in skills.

In the comments section, people explained why they aren't impressed by Jisoo, highlighting her "poor" vocals and "stiff" dance capabilities.

• "Her voice doesn't suit BLACKPINK songs."
• "She can't sing, can't dance, can't act, but I think the impact of the name BLACKPINK to her is huge."
• "Her tone and dance were bad, really."
• " I don't think she has any talent as a singer. Her vocalisation is the worst so no matter what she sings, her nasal tone becomes very annoying and frustrating.
• She can dance by memorizing it, but the transition between the movements isn't smooth, so it feels like she's creaking like a rusty machine."

People continued to leave harsh comments, claiming that Jisoo only survived a 7-year career due to her "pretty face."

• "Other than her face, I don't know if she has any good skills. Dancing, singing and acting are all left to the other members."
• "She's a face genius, but she's talentless in all the other areas. If you let her act because of her pretty face, she'll get half of the money but her voice and acting skills are incompetent, her facial expressions, singing, dancing and everything have actually gone that far because she practiced.
• If you look at her abilities alone, she is talentless. She will be a big hit if she takes a photo shoot, but she can't move or open her mouth."
• "Her superior beauty makes all that no problem."

BLINKs Defend BLACKPINK Jisoo

When the poll became a real-time trending post, BLINKs (BLACKPINK fandom) were quick to defend Jisoo and emphasized her strength, the reason she was able to survive a long career.

Regarding her pretty face, fans acknowledged that visuals are her core area, but this is not the only thing Jisoo can offer.

• "Why on earth would you write something like this? If Jisoo is talentless, she wouldn't have won 3 female soloist awards at the MAMA Awards, right? Damn, this post came after she won three awards. It's as if ignoring all the hard work Jisoo has done so far."
• "She was able to achieve this level of success all thanks to her own abilities. The company and the team all fit together well and she has crazy visuals, too."
