Since the idol released the song in November as part of his debut full-length album, "GOLDEN," he popularized various TikTok challenges, especially "Standing Next To You."

Around the world, numerous world-renowned dancers and idols already posted covers of it, including LE SSERAFIM, Niana Guerrero, TXT, and more.

But among them, K-pop fans were particularly looking forward to the entry of Bada Lee, the leader of South Korea's current best female dance crew, BEBE.

On this day, she officially joined the trend by posting her challenge clip together with her dance and rumored real-life partner, Howl, a member of another top-tier dance crew, Just Jerk.

In particular, both of their crews won the grand prize during Mnet's "Street Woman Fighter 2" and its male counterpart. Due to this, the video received massive attention from fans and lauded the impressive skills of the two professional dancers.

Although both have their unique dance styles, Bada Lee and Howl truly matched each other's energy, convincing fans even more about how they earned the top spots at the street dance competition.

Bada Lee Criticized for 'Excessive' Dancing in Jungkook's 'Standing Next To You' Cover

Amid praises from netizens and K-pop fans, some ARMYs were, however, unimpressed by Bada Lee's dancing skills.

According to fans on X, her "exaggerated" movements and "excessive" energy made the sharp choreography even sharper, making it painful and harder to watch.

ARMYs (BTS fandom) expressed their disappointment and criticized Bada for "trying too hard" and using a dance style that "didn't match" the song.

In the end, fans emphasized that only BTS Jungkook, the original singer, can make a dance movement with a clean, smooth yet sharp impact.

Some of the comments are:

  • "She's doing it too much."
  • "I don't get the hype."
  • "Girl, why so aggressive?"
  • "Yeah, it's a no for me."
  • "This is too stiff."
  • "Nah, she's doing too much, there's no need for much aggression."
  • "Got a little first place on SWF and now she thinks she got some sht."

Fortunately, not all ARMYs thought the same and defended Bada along with her supporters and left X posts, such as:
