SEVENTEEN Becomes the Best-Selling K-pop Artist of All Time in Hanteo

The artist in question is none other than third-gen leader SEVENTEEN!

The year 2023 was a fun-filled time in K-pop, as many K-pop artists have released their albums for fans to enjoy. While there were many bop releases, there were those who stood out the most in the K-pop community.

Hanteo released its year-end chart, which featured several K-pop artists who made waves during 2023 with their album releases. The list was dominated by SEVENTEEN, who racked up a total of 25,848,348 album sales since their debut on May 26, 2015.

This makes SEVENTEEN the best-selling artist of all time in Hanteo history. In 2023, the boy group released their 10th mini album "FML," which made headlines for its immense success.

On July 5, 2023, SEVENTEEN's album distributor YG PLUS revealed that "FML" had sold over 6.2 million copies. Since it was released on April 24, 2023, the album managed to secure the accomplishment in approximately two months.

The achievement also led SEVENTEEN to become the first K-pop artist to garner six million album copies. "FML" exceeded the group's previous album sales of their fourth full album "Face the Sun," which sold over 2,067,769 copies.

SEVENTEEN's "FML" also broke the record in Hanteo charts from April 24 to 30, when the album sold over 4,550,214 copies, leading the group to make history in the chart's first-week sales. It also gained 4.64 million stock pre-orders, exceeding their previous record of 2,067,769 ("Face the Sun").

SEVENTEEN has also released their 11th mini album "SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN" on October 23, 2023, alongside its title track "God Of Music." The album also became one of SEVENTEEN's best releases due to how it was well-received.

According to Hanteo, "SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN" managed to sell a total of 5,284,638 album copies in 2023. This led the album to claim second place in Hanteo's Top 10 best-selling albums of 2023, creating another achievement for SEVENTEEN.
