Though these songs earned divided opinions, giving them another listen will prove they are total bangers! Keep on reading to see the whole list.

1. Red Velvet - 'Birthday'

"Birthday" was released on November 28, 2022, as the lead single of Red Velvet's EP "The ReVe Festival 2022."

The song is a fusion of different genres, such as dance-pop, R&B, and trap. Because of that, many at first listeners found the song too messy. However, that is the whole point! The song is meant to be one that is unforgettable and memorable, just like a special birthday.

2. IVE - 'Kitsch'

IVE released "Kitsch" on March 27, 2023, as a pre-release single to their albu, "I'VE IVE."

Though the song starts off bubbly, the chorus becomes dark and edgy. Perhaps the shift between two different energies is too drastic for some. However, "Kitsch" perfectly shows IVE's unique charm and is a song that showcases their confidence and self-love.

3. BABMONSTER - 'BATTER UP'

BABYMONSTER made their debut with "BATTERUP" on November 27, 2023.

Many were disappointed by the song because it failed to give them a separate identity from their labelmates 2NE1 and BLACKPINK, with some even saying the song sounded like a YG reject. However, this hip-hop and trap sound is one of the staples of YG, and BABYMONSTER fully delivered with hard-hitting raps and a catchy chorus.

4. NMIXX - 'Young, Dumb, Stupid'

NMIXX released "Young, Dump, Stupid" on March 13, 2023, as a pre-release single to their EP "Expergo."

The song is a mixture between hip-hop and children's nursery rhymes. The kiddiness of the song, along with the lyrics of being "young, dumb, and stupid," was a hit or miss for many. However, the song is meant to be playful, a little clumsy, and perfectly encapsulates NMIXX's fearless attitude.

5. aespa - 'Girls'

aespa released "Girls" on July 8, 2022, as the lead single of their EP of the same name.

Coming from the success of "Illusion," many had high expectations for "Girls." However, it fell flat with people's expectations. Despite that, "Girls" is a symphony of genres that fully encapsulates aespa's worldview. Here, they sing about taking on their worldview's antagonist, the Black Mamba,

6. NCT 127 - 'Sticker'

NCT 127 released "Sticker"on September 17, 2021, as the lead single of the album of the same name.

Many people did not like the flute at the beginning of the song, as well as the drawl whenever the members' sang "Sticker." However, the minimal and subdued production of the song is what makes it stand out. It is one of NCT 127's most difficult yet impactful songs to perform.

7. Kep1er - 'We Fresh'

Kep1er released "We Fresh" on October 13, 2022, as the lead single of their EP "Troubleshooter."

"We Fresh" is eccentric and fun, with an up-tempo house beat characterized by a rock guitar. Though the song is bright and confident, many found it too different from Kep1er's previous releases, such as "Up!" and "WADADA," which earned more favorable reactions.

8. BLACKPINK - 'Bet You Wanna (feat. Cardi B)'

BLACKPINK released "Bet You Wanna (feat. Cardi B)" on October 2, 2020, as part of their album "THE ALBUM."

As BLACKPINK's first rap feature on a song, and having it be such a major artist, it had the potential to be a massive hit. However, many found Cardi B's PG-lyrics cringe-worthy and awkward. However, the song is bright, fun, and perfect for a fun, non-serious party with friends.

9. GOT the Beat - 'Stamp on It'

GOT the Beat released "Stamp on It" on January 16, 2023, as the lead single of their EP of the same name.

Many had high hopes for the song, as it marked GOT the Beat's first comeback single, "Step Back," in 2022. However, many believe the song fell flat and was not as good as their debut single. However, this R&B dance song stands out with its piano and bass rhythm, making it a unique sensory experience.

10. ITZY - 'Sneakers'

ITZY released "Sneakers" on July 15, 2022, as the lead single of their EP "Checkmate."

When ITZY was releasing teasers for this comeback, they leaned heavy on a dark, serious, royal concept. Because of that, people expected their lead single to be darker in tone. Many were surprised when they released "Sneakers," a bright dance song. Though it earned flak at the time, many are coming around and appreciating it's cute energy.
