Following reports that HyunA is dating ex-HIGHLIGHT Yong Junhyung, the couple was immediately welcomed with negative comments and controversies, asking them to break up for THIS reason.

On January 18, the female singer broke the internet after uploading her latest photo of walking while holding hands with another guy. As per the tagged person, she was with Yong Junhyung, an ex-HIGHLIGHT member.

At the same time, the male idol also posted the same photo and tagged HyunA as well.

Upon seeing the picture, a dating rumor eventually emerged and HyunA might have indirectly confirmed this by asking fans to support them going forward, even adding an emoji of a boy and girl with a heart in between.

HyunA Dating Yong Junhyung — THIS Is Why It's Controversial

Despite this subtle confirmation of public romance, some people are still skeptical if it could have been a promotional post about collaboration work.

As a short response, Yong Junhyung's agency only said:

 "We are checking on it."

Since 2009, the two have known each other and worked together before under Cube Entertainment as members of 4Minute and BEAST (hereinafter HIGHLIGHT). Yong also appeared on HyunA's solo song, "Change."

From 2016 until November 2022, HyunA is dating another male idol Dawn, but in Nov. last year, there are speculations about her and Junhyung's relationship after they were spotted visiting a restaurant together, even leaving their autographs.

While there are fans who favorably received the apparent relationship of the couple, the majority aren't that welcoming because of Yong Junhyung's controversial past.

In 2019, he was involved in the Burning Sun scandal after it was claimed that he was a member of Jung Joon Young's Kakao Talk group chat room, where inappropriate conversations & videos were being shared.

The latter was sentenced to five years in prison for illegally filming drunken women and sexual assault. He will be freed from prison in March.

After the investigation, it was determined that Yong Junhyung wasn't a member of the group chat. However, he was still criticized for personally admitting that he had shared illegal videos from Jung Joon Young and also exchanged inappropriate messages.

He left HIGHLIGHT in the same year and since then, he has been working as a solo artist.

Fans Expresses Frustration Following HyunA & Yong Junhyung Dating News

On the social media platforms of the said couple, both are earning massive criticism.

On Yong's Instagram, he's been getting comments such as:

• "Please break up if you still have a conscience."
• "I thought there would be no more shocking or painful than (what you did). But this is amazing."
• "Please let go of her."

But among them, HyunA is taking a huge blow from netizens after dating him, saying:

• "I can't cheer for you anymore and I don't want to do it. This is really not right."
• "Why are you dating a criminal?"
• "Are you really kidding me?"
• "What's the reason for revealing this?"
• "How can we cheer for this? As a public figure, we felt. Have you thought about how this would affect us? How can you do this?"
• "Is this right? Are you proud to date a criminal?"
• "Why should I look after Yong Junhyung for rewatching illegal films?"
• "How many women have suffered from Burning Sun? Does it make sense in common to date someone who sympathizes with him?"
