NCT 127 Members Garner Flak for Drinking Alcohol During Live Stream

On January 28, 2024, a post titled "I hope people drink in moderation during live broadcasts" was uploaded to a South Korean online community forum. The post was targeted at NCT 127, who was seen drinking during a live stream on January 27 to celebrate 127 Day.

In the post, the author commented that NCT 127 rarely holds live streams as a group, but when they do, they always talk about alcohol. They noted how one member, Mark, was trying to stop them from drinking, but people pretended not to hear him.

In the past, Jaehyun was criticized for going to bars during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Haechan most recently was embroiled in an indoor smoking controversy. With their past in mind, the poster hoped the members would be more aware of their reputation and not do controversial acts.

Those who saw the post agreed with the sentiments. They noted three members who were heavily drinking: Taeyong, Jungwoo, and Haechan.

During the live stream, users claimed Taeyeon and Jungwoo were having a competition to see who could drink more. Haechan, on the other hand, was encouraging their "competition" but also acting worried about the other members. People believe Haechan was acting this way to better his own image.

Many sympathized with Mark and Doyoung. Mark was seen telling the members to stop, while Doyoung was the one cleaning up the members' mess in the end.
