Red Velvet Irene Renews Exclusive Contract with SM, Idol Expresses Thoughts in Brief Statement
Korean news outlets have reported that Irene will continue her career with SM Entertainment.
On February 7, SM Entertainment officially announced that the "Chill Kill" singer had renewed her exclusive contract with the agency and that the decision was based on mutual trust.
SM then mentioned Irene's fellow bandmate Seulgi, who previously renewed her contract on August 21, 2023. It also stated that SM will support Irene and Seulgi in various activities for them to flourish as artists globally.
"After Seulgi's renewal, we have renewed our exclusive contract with Irene based on deep trust. With the full support of SM Entertainment, Irene will proceed to carry out as an artist through various activities."
"We will support them in various ways, so they can be more active as global artists. We kindly ask for your continued love and interest."

Irene released a brief statement regarding her contract renewal. The idol revealed that the decision to renew was due to the trust she has with SM staff and stated that she'll continue to showcase a new side of her with this new chapter.
Furthermore, Irene also expressed gratitude to ReVeluvs who love and support Red Velvet.
"I renewed my contract because I trusted the staff of the company (SM Entertainment), who have all been with me since my debut and SM, which made me who I am today."
"I will continue to show a good side through engaging in various activities with the members this 2024, and I would like to thank the fans, who have always supported Red Velvet."
