To celebrate, we at KpopStarz sat down with the boys to discuss their music, their ambitions, and their future goals in an exclusive interview!

DXMON 'Burns Up' K-Pop Scene With Stellar Debut

Before making their official debut, DXMON stunned K-pop fans with their pre-release single, "Burn Up." The music video has since garnered over 1.24 million view on YouTube. Since then, the boys have showed no signs of slowing down.

Congratulations on your debut! Can you tell us more about the meaning of your album, “HYPERSPACE”?

여러분의 데뷔를 축하합니다! HYPERSPACE라는 앨범의 의미에 대해 더 자세히 말씀해주시겠어요?

민재 : 저희 다이몬은 현재 HYPERSPACE, 즉 초공간이 생성된 단계입니다. 그 공간을 채워 나가는 과정과 모습은 앞으로의 활동과 함께 확인이 가능하시니, 다이몬을 계속해서 지켜봐 주시고 응원해주시면서 저희와 함께 해주시면 감사하겠습니다.

MINJAE: We, DXMON, are currently at the stage where our ‘hyperspace’ has been created. You can find out the process and what it’s like to fill that space through our future activities, so we would appreciate it if you continue to watch and support DXMON and stay with us along our journey.

Your song “Spark” has been on repeat for us at KpopStarz! Can you tell us more about your title track?

저희 팀원들도 계속해서 “SPARK”를 듣고 있는데요, 데뷔 타이틀곡에 대해 더 얘기해 주실 수 있나요?

민재 : 우선 이번에 더블타이틀 곡으로 데뷔한만큼 타이틀곡마다 상반된 매력을 느낄 수 있을 실 건데요. Burn Up은 인트로부터 귀에 꽂히는 타악기 소리가 인상적인 힙합 장르의 곡입니다. 그만큼 저희의 에너지 넘치는 퍼포먼스까지 볼 수 있는 곡이고, SPARK는 Burn Up과는 다르게 이지리스닝에 초점을 둔 곡이라서 좀 더 언제 어디서나 편안하게 들을 수 있는 곡입니다. 앞으로는 이런 두 곡 외에도 다양한 곡들을 보여줄 수 있도록 노력을 더 하도록 하겠습니다.

MINJAE: Since we debuted with double title tracks, you will be able to feel the opposite charms of each title track. “Burn Up” is a hip-hop genre song with a significant percussion sound that catches listeners’ ears from the start. Through that track, you can witness our energetic performance. “SPARK” is a song that aims for a comfortable listening experience, unlike “Burn Up”, making it suitable to enjoy at any time and in any place. Besides these two songs, we will try our best to showcase various songs in the future.

What are your favorite songs from your debut album?

여러분이 데뷔 앨범 중 가장 좋아하는 곡은 무엇입니까?

REX : 저는 SPARK입니다. SPARK는 다이몬만 낼 수 있는 그런 느낌의 곡이어서 선택했습니다.

HEE : 저는 Burn Up입니다. Burn Up은 저희 다이몬의 색깔과 에너지를 다 보여줄 수 있는 곡이라고 생각합니다.

세이타 : 저는 N.W.B입니다. 저희 다이몬이 올드 힙합 바이브를 잘 소화한 것 같아서 가장 좋아하는 곡입니다.

태극 : 저는 딸기도둑입니다. 저희 다이몬이 팬분들께 전해 드리고 싶은 메시지가 가장 명확한 곡이라고 생각합니다.

JO : 저는 Burn Up입니다. 저희의 멋진 스타일링 그리고 저희만이 소화할 수 있는 독보적인 스타일리시한 무대의상을 많이 보여드릴 수 있어서 선택했습니다.

민재 : 저는 딸기도둑입니다. 벌스 부분은 감성적인 멜로디가 있고 훅 부분에는 다이나믹한 빠른 리듬을 느낄 수 있으며, 가사가 누군가를 짝사랑하는 내용이 담겨있는 부분이 너무 귀엽다고 생각해서 골랐습니다.

REX: For me, it’s “SPARK” because I thought it was a song that only DXMON could present.

HEE: I would choose “Burn Up.” I think “Burn Up” is a song that can show all the colors and energy of DXMON.

SEITA: For me, it’s “N.W.B.” It's my favorite song because I think DXMON pulled off the old hip-hop vibe well.

TK: I like “Very” because it clearly shows the message that we wanted to convey to our fans.

JO: For me, it’s “Burn Up” because we can show you our cool styling through unique and stylish stage costumes that only we can pull off.

MINJAE: For me, it’s “Very.” This track carries a sentimental melody in the verse part and a dynamic, fast rhythm in the hook part. Additionally, its lyrics tell a cute story of admiring someone.

Before making your debut, you guys released the hip-hop song “Burn Up.” Can you tell us what message you want to tell fans with your pre-release?

공식 데뷔 전 “Burn Up”이라는 힙합곡을 발표하셨었는데, 이 프리데뷔 곡을 통해 팬들에게 어떤 메세지를 전달하고 싶으셨나요?

민재 : 저희는 Burn Up을 통해 이런 비주얼과 강한 에너지, 넘치는 퍼포먼스가 있다 라는 걸 먼저 보여드리고 싶었습니다. 다이몬의 시작인만큼 우리만의 색을 보여주고 싶었습니다. 그리고 대중분들에게 확실히 각인이 되기 위해 항상 노력하도록 하겠습니다.

MINJAE: Through “Burn Up”, we wanted to show that we have unique visuals, strong energy, and an overflowing performance. As it was the beginning of DXMON, we wanted to share our own colors, and we’re determined to work tirelessly to leave a lasting impression on the public.

DXMON Talks About Their Identity & More

The boy group's name, DXMON (pronounced DAAI-MON), is unique and contains a lot of meanings. It definitely suits the passion of rookies!

In our interview, we dived a little deeper into what it means to be DXMON, as well as their future dreams and goals.

Your group name, DXMON, is very unique. Can you tell us what it means and what was your reaction when you first heard your group name?

DXMON이라는 여러분의 그룹 이름은 매우 독특한데요, 그룹 이름에 담긴 의미에 대한 설명 부탁드려요. 여러분은 그룹 이름을 처음 들었을 때 어떻게 반응하셨나요?

민재 : 저희 팀명인 다이몬은 그리스어에서 유래된 단어로 자신들의 운명을 진취적으로 결정하고 이루어 나가겠다는 의지를 담고 있는 의미입니다.

TK : 솔직히 다이몬이라는 이름이 평범하지는 않잖아요. 저는 다이몬이 색달라서 좋았습니다. 먼저 데뷔하신 선배님들의 그룹명을 봤을 때, 대중분들이 기억에 남는다는 말을 유독 많이 하는 그룹명들이 존재하잖아요. 제 생각에 다이몬이 그런 말을 들을 수 있는 그룹명이라고 생각합니다.

JO : 저는 ‘우리 팀의 정체성이랑 맞겠다.’라는 생각이 들었습니다!

세이타 : 저희끼리 이름 관해서 이야기 한 적이 있었는데 다이몬이라는 그룹명 자체가 특별한 것 같다고 말했습니다.

MINJAE: The name of our team, DXMON, is a word derived from a Greek word that means a willingness to make ambitious decisions about one’s own fate and achieve it.

TK: To be honest, the name DXMON is not quite common, and that is exactly why I liked it. When you look at the group names of seniors who debuted before us, there are group names that the public says are memorable. I think DXMON is a group name that can provoke such comments as well.

JO: I thought, "It fits our team's identity!"

SEITA: We've talked about the group name among ourselves, and we've agreed that the group name DXMON itself seems special.

Your concept right now is strong, fiery, and confident. In the future, what kind of concept or genre would you like to try out?

지금 여러분이 선보이는 컨셉은 강렬하고 당당합니다. 앞으로 어떤 콘셉트나 장르를 시도해 보고 싶으신가요?

세이타 : 저희 멤버들이 평소에 락 스타일을 많이 좋아해서 앞으로 락 스타일이나 펑크 스타일도 도전해보고 싶습니다.

민재 : 지금까지 저희 곡이 랩적인 부분을 보여줄 수 있는 곡이었다면 다음에는 저희들의 보컬적인 부분도 보여드릴 수 있는 곡들로 해보고 싶습니다!

SEITA: Considering how our members like rock style a lot, I'm keen on trying out both rock and funk styles in the future.

MINJAE: Until now, our songs have mainly featured our raps, but going forward, we're eager to experiment with tracks that also emphasize our vocal talents!

If given the chance, would you like to collaborate with any artist? If so, who?

기회가 된다면 어떤 아티스트와 콜라보레이션을 하고 싶으신가요?

민재 : 엑소 선배님들과 콜라보를 진행하고 싶습니다. 예전부터 저희가 존경하고 있는 선배님들이기 때문입니다.

REX : 저는 스트레이키즈 선배님과 콜라보를 진행하고 싶습니다. 왜냐면 스타일도 너무 멋있고, 존경하기 때문입니다.

MINJAE: I'd like to collaborate with EXO because they’re seniors we’ve respected for a long time.

REX: I want to collaborate with Stray Kids because their styles are so cool and I respect them.

DXMON Teases New Music & Leaves Special Message to Fans

Though DXMON just made their debut, many are already anticipating the boy group's new release! The group hinted at new music in the works, and left a special message for their supporters!

Do you guys already have something new in the works? Can you give us a hint on what it is?

이미 준비중인 새로운 노래나 활동 계획이 있나요? 가능하시다면 살짝 스포해주실 수도 있나요?

민재 : 이번에 정말 같이 소통하고 공감할 수 있는 노래로 나왔는데요. 곧 다이몬만의 VIBE를 느낄 수 있는 음악으로 돌아올 계획입니다.

MINJAE: This time, we came out with a song that you can communicate with and resonate with all listeners. We're planning to come back with music that will truly showcase DXMON's unique vibe.

What is one thing you want to tell your fans?

팬분들에게 전하고 싶은 메세지를 말씀해주세요.

민재 : 지금 다이몬에게 관심을 주시는 분들께 너무나도 감사드리고 이 관심을 통해서 저희가 앞으로 더 발전을 해 나아갈 테니까 계속 지켜봐주시면 감사하겠습니다. 항상 최선을 다하고 더 열심히 노력하는 다이몬이 되도록 하겠습니다.
