"I felt there wasn't a perfect highlighter that met my standards." She further elaborated on her meticulous approach, mentioning, "I used to mix two or three colors, which was quite cumbersome. Even my idol friends confirmed this during a meeting at my place."

Personal Touches and Involvement in Design

Highlighting her hands-on involvement, Somi proudly shared,

"I personally packed the wrappers and even contributed to the drawing on the packaging, which I sketched back in elementary school." Emphasizing her attention to detail, she added, "I paid close attention to colors and grams, ensuring even the smallest pearl met my vision."

Recently, Jeon Somi, formerly of I.O.I and now a soloist, announced the launch of her makeup brand, GLYF. Despite her excitement, the announcement was met with backlash from some fans, who announced a boycott.

The reasons for the boycott include concerns over the high price of her products, particularly a four-color highlight palette priced at 43,000 won ($32), which some felt was too expensive for a new brand. Others criticized the packaging, likening it to cheaper alternatives available at Daiso.

Additionally, international fans accused Somi of being a "Zionist" due to her alleged support of Israel, citing her promotion of Starbucks, a company accused of funding Israel's actions in Palestine.

Despite deleting a TikTok video related to the controversy, Somi faced criticism for her handling of the situation and lack of a proper apology.
