SISTAR Invades The Top 5: Girl Group Secures The Top 3 Spots In Billboard's K-Pop Hot 100, Also Tops 9 Other Charts

Four-piece girl group SISTAR took over the top five this week, earning the top three spots on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100.

"Give It To Me" is currently Billboard's number one K-pop song, "The Way You Make Me Melt" featuring Geeks is number two and "Bad Boy" is number three.

And SISTAR isn't just blowing up the Billboards charts.

"Give It To Me" and "The Way You Make Me Melt" hold the same top positions on South Korea's GAON singles chart. "Bad Boy" is at number four.

SISTAR also currently has eight songs in the Soribada top 20, including "The Way You Make Me Melt," "Bad Boy," "Summer Time," "Crying, A Week," "Hey You," and "If U Want."

"Give It To Me" is currently number one.

And SISTAR topped eight other K-pop charts this week, including Naver, Olleh, Mnet, Bugs, Monkey3, Cyworld, Daum, and Melon, according to CJ E&M enewsWorld.

SISTAR's chart-storming success appeared to come out of nowhere.

Last week, "Give It To Me" debuted at number 23 on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100. "The Way You Make Me Melt debuted at number 38.

"Only You" by R&B trio 4Men, last week's number one song on the Billboard chart, was knocked down to number four.

The song was featured on the South Korean television show "Gu Family Book."

Lee Seung Chol's new single "The Day To Love" debuted at number five this week on the Billboard K-pop chart.

Lee, who was the lead singer of the rock band Boohwal before going solo in 1989, performed a free concert in Seoul on Wednesday night to celebrate the release of his 11th album.

The 46-year-old singer told the crowd of 5,000 that the concert was a first for him, according to the Chosun Ilbo.

"I've held over 2,000 concerts, but this was the first that I did for free," Lee said.

"I wanted to get closer to fans and show them my latest songs, so I chose this venue at the heart of Seoul."

Psy's "Gentleman" continues to fade from the Billboard charts.

The follow-up to the rapper's international smash "Gangnam Style" falls to number 48 after two months on the chart, down from last week's position at number 38.
