ASTRO member Cha Eun Woois facing harsh accusations online, with some netizens claiming he and his agency Fantagio are using the late Moonbin's death for financial gain.
The controversy erupted after the release of a tribute song marking the second anniversary of Moonbin's passing, sparking heated debate among fans and the public. The tribute track, released on April 19, features 22 artists, including Cha Eun Woo and Moonbin's younger sister, Moon Soo-ah.
To thank the artists who participated, Eun Woo reportedly sent them luxury bracelets. However, the gesture and the song's release led some social media users to accuse both Cha Eun Woo and Fantagio of "using the deceased for profit," according to Koreaboo.

In response, Eun Woo's fans organized a protest by sending LED trucks to Fantagio's office in Gangnam, Seoul. The electronic boards displayed strong messages criticizing the company's perceived inaction and urging it to protect the K-pop idol from slander.
"Take strong action against the baseless slander targeting Cha Eun Woo," one message read.
"Protect the artist and support his individual activities and long-term growth," another message read.
Fantagio has not yet issued an official statement regarding the controversy or the fans' demands for increased protection.
Eun Woo and Moonbin shared a close and meaningful bond as members of ASTRO, debuting together in 2016 under Fantagio Entertainment. From the start, they were often praised for their strong visuals and quickly became two of the most popular members in the group. Their friendship extended beyond the stage, with fans frequently noting how they supported each other during group activities and individual projects.
When Moonbin passed away in April 2023, Cha Eun Woo was deeply affected; he was in the United States at the time but immediately returned to South Korea upon hearing the news.
