Choi Soo-young, known worldwide as a member of the K-pop group Girls' Generation, is set to make her Hollywood debut in the upcoming action thriller "Ballerina," a spin-off from the acclaimed "John Wick" franchise.

Soo-young will play the role of Katla Park, a pivotal new character in the film, which is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 6, 2025. Katla Park is described as the daughter of Il Seong, a colleague of the Ruska Roma syndicate, the group known for training assassins through their ballet school. Eve's first field mission in the film is to protect Katla Park at the lavish Minus Eleven club.

Ballerina is directed by Len Wiseman and stars Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a young ballerina who is drawn into the secretive world of assassins after her father's murder. The film is positioned between the events of "John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum" and "John Wick: Chapter 4." Throughout the film, Eve faces off against the Chancellor, the main antagonist leading a town against her, while crossing paths with both new and returning characters from the John Wick saga.

The cast of "Ballerina" also features several returning stars from the John Wick series, including Keanu Reeves as John Wick, Ian McShane as Winston, Anjelica Huston as The Director, and the late Lance Reddick in his final performance as Charon. Newcomers joining the franchise include Norman Reedus, Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Robert Maaser, and David Castañeda.

Soo-young began her acting career with minor roles while still active as a member of the top K-pop group Girls' Generation, before landing her first major role in the medical drama "The Third Hospital" in 2012. Since then, she has steadily built a diverse filmography, starring in popular television dramas such as "My Spring Days," "Run On," "So I Married the Anti-Fan," "Fanletter Please," and "Not Others," as well as movies like "Miss & Mrs. Cops," "Memories of a Dead End," and "New Year Blues."
