TWICE member and main rapper Chaeyoung is set to release her first solo album this September, a milestone that coincides with her 10th year as a recording artist.

The announcement was made by her agency earlier this week, confirming that Chaeyoung's debut project will drop on September 12.

This upcoming album will feature a mix of self-composed tracks and collaborations with prominent producers. Fans can expect Chaeyoung's signature blend of bold lyricism and dynamic vocals, showcasing a side of her artistry that has remained largely unexplored in her group activities. The album title, X, reflects both the ten-year milestone and Chaeyoung's intention to multiply her creative output.

Chaeyoung first debuted with TWICE in October 2015, under JYP Entertainment, quickly rising to fame with the group's breakout hit "Cheer Up." Over the past decade, TWICE has become one of K-pop's most successful girl groups, selling millions of albums worldwide and earning numerous awards for both group and individual achievements. Throughout this period, Chaeyoung has contributed to the group's songwriting, penning verses for tracks such as "BDZ" and "Feel Special."

In recent years, Chaeyoung has expanded her creative repertoire by participating in variety shows and art exhibitions. In 2023, she held a solo art showcase in Seoul, where her illustrations explored themes of identity and self-expression. Her work received praise for its raw emotion and distinctive style, further cementing her reputation as a multifaceted artist.

The upcoming album will be Chaeyoung's first full-length solo project, following her feature on fellow TWICE member Mina's solo track in 2022. Teasers released by the agency hint at a concept that blends retro synth sounds with contemporary pop, accompanied by visuals that emphasize Chaeyoung's artistic flair. The lead single, "Mirror Image," is said to draw on personal experiences from her decade-long career, delivering an introspective narrative backed by an energetic beat.

In anticipation of the release, Chaeyoung will hold a countdown live stream on her official YouTube channel on September 11. She is also scheduled to appear on a popular music program on the day of the album launch to perform her new single for the first time on broadcast television.

Pre-orders for the album begin August 25, with a variety of physical editions that include exclusive photo books, posters, and collectible cards. International shipping will be available, ensuring that TWICE's global fan base can secure copies. As Chaeyoung steps into the spotlight on her own, the music industry and fans alike await to see how she carves out her individual identity after ten years of collective success.
