Shinhwa Promises To Return Next Year: 'We'll Continue To Stay Together' Says Lee Min Woo

When K-pop's longest-running boy band Shinhwa finished up their six-city 2013 world tour in Seoul last week, it capped one of the most successful years yet in the band's storied history.

But according to the six members of the group, they're just getting started.

"I think I'll remember our recent promotions as a round that gave us some great results," member Lee Min Woo told the publication eNEWS at a press release proceeding the last show of the tour.

"I'm thankful that we were able to promote together under the name of Shinhwa for 15 years. I want to promise everyone that we'll continue to stay together as Shinhwa."

Band member Jun Jin doubled down on the promise that Shinhwa will be back.

"I think we were able to continue promoting thanks to our fans. We′ve changed thanks to that love, so you can look forward to seeing what Shinhwa will come back with again next year," Jun said.

The band has been out promoting their 11th album "The Classic" and the accompanying smash single "This Love."

Shinhwa's Kim Dong Wan claims that even after all their years in the spotlight, the fan response to "The Classic" caught the group by surprise.

"We didn′t expect reactions to be this great," Kim said.

"The album was an attempt at a winning move, and we're thankful we've received even more love than we were prepared for. I want to work hard to repay our fans for that love at our finale concert."

And what is it about this band of 30-year-old K-pop icons that continues to sell out shows?

According to Lee, it is a mixture of the band members' individuality and loyalty on the part of fans.

"I think it′s because every member has his own charms and attractions," the singer said.

"I believe also that it′s a show of encouragement to keep staying together. Since we′ve been around for a long time, our fans have also grown to become workers in society, and I think that′s why they can now spend more money on tickets compared to how it was when they were students."

Member Shin Hye Sun added that the group was pleased at being mentioned in a July 23 article in the Atlantic, advising the Backstreet Boys that they could learn a thing or two about longevity from Shinhwa.

"We were honored and happy to be with the Backstreet Boys in the same article," Shin said.

"A lot of our juniors are working hard to let K-pop become more known in the world, and I was proud Shinhwa was being a part of that."
