SNSD's Signing Event in New York Was Flooded with 1,300 Fans

After demonstrating the power of the "Korean Wave" on the 'Late Night Show with David Letterman', SNSD successfully wrapped up their first signing event in the U.S.
According to SM Entertainment, the signing event, held at the music & CD corner of the Best Buy in Union Square, was flooded with 1,300 American fans.
The unexpected swarm of fans forced Best Buy to shut down the normal store operations and the NYC police had to step in to help maintain order.
An SM representative also added that "The fans were lined up in front of the store hours before the start of the signing. And after Lady GaGa, this was the first time Best Buy had to shut down the entire store due to a signing event."
SNSD greeted their fans for about an hour and half.
Since their departure to the U.S. on January 30th, SNSD members have appeared on America's three prominent ground-wave channels such as CBS, ABC, NBC, interviewed with the local press, and have had "Meet and Greet" sessions with various producers.
The NYC signing event concluded the group's official agenda in the U.S.
