'Mary Tyler Moore Show' Reunion on `Hot in Cleveland’ was 'Heaven' to Betty White

The stars of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show" had a reunion on Betty White’s series “Hot in Cleveland.” “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” was one of the biggest hits on television in the seventies for seven years.

Mary Tyler Moore played Mary Richards, the title character of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”. It also starred Valerie Harper as Rhoda Morgenstern. Valerie Harper took the character to the spinoff “Rhoda” which was also a hit. Valerie Harper has been battling a rare and aggressive brain cancer, but has been keeping very busy. Valerie Harper appeared in a film and will appear on the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars.”

Cloris Leachman played Mary Tyler Moore’s landlady, Phyllis Lindstrom. Cloris Leachman also starred in the spinoff series “Phyllis.” Betty White played Sue Ann Nivens, the flirty TV cooking host. Georgia Engel played Ted Baxter’s girlfriend Georgette Franklin. “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” ran from 1970 to 1977.

After her terminal cancer diagnosis, Valerie Harper, who was originally given three to six months to live when she was diagnosed in January, has been “living very normally.” Valerie Harper told Katie Couric that she doesn't have "a lot of symptoms."

Valerie Harper said "I'm not a believer in the good old days. This, right now, is the best day. Why? Because here we are." She said the reunion with her friend filled her "with so much happiness."

The “Mary Tyler Moore Show” reunion episode of "Hot in Cleveland" will be broadcast later this month.
