'Girls' Lena Dunham Being Seduced By 'Vogue' Editor Anna Wintour To Get On The Cover Of The Fashion Magazine

Allegedly, Vogue editor Anna Wintour is doing everything possible to get 'Girls' creator Lena Dunham on the cover of her fashion magazine.

Radar Online reported that Wintour supposedly had a top secret invite only dinner planned in order to help persuade Dunham to join the Vogue campaign.

A close source claims the notoriously hard to please editor is pulling out all the stops for the 27-year-old "Girls" actress.

“This dinner is a first step for Anna to see if Lena will play ball,” said the source “But Anna’s perspective is that they need each other.”

Although Dunham isn't a girl who fits the stereotypical Vogue look, the same insider says Wintour thinks the actress will attract a new group of readers.

"Anna is trying to seduce Lena into bringing her next-generation audience into the Vogue brand,” said the insider. “And she’s willing to violate a lot of Vogue traditions to do it, including putting her on the cover even though she doesn’t really conform to the body type that Vogue has featured for most of its history.”

The first person who was considered overweight to grace the cover of the US Vogue  was Adele.

Dunham just landed her first fashion cover this year when shooting for the October issue of Marie Claire in the UK. In the interview she addressed not being the model type.

"I'm not saying I am a great candidate for the cover of a fashion magazine," said the "Girls" writer. "But I do love clothes. People are always surprised to hear that -- they think I walk around in a washcloth or something."

Dunham also talked about the lack of diversity in the fashion industry.

"I do think it takes fashion magazines a minute to be comfortable with variations of any kind," she said. "Adele is one of the most beautiful women in the world, but every time I see her on the cover, it's like a crop of her face and it's just so boring at this point. It's such a boring conversation."
