Nokia Lumia 2520 Release Date: 10.1-Inch Windows RT 8.1 Tablet With Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Processor & 6.7MP Camera, To Be Released November 22, Priced At $499

Nokia Lumia 2520: The Nokia Lumia 2520 will be released on November 22, a week before the highly important Black Friday sale in the U.S. It is expected to launch together with the Nokia 1520, the first ever Windows-powered phablet and the Xbox One. The tablet will be sold at a price of $499.

The Nokia Lumia 2520 specs, aside from it being powered by Windows RT include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.2Ghz Quad Core processor, 6.7MP camera, and full 1080P HD AH-IPS display, High Brightness with Low Reflectance and Gorilla Glass 2 also for the display. WP Central said that Windows is banking on consumers hoping to have an “always connected” device and could be the reason why AT&T and Verizon are offering the device to come with Wi-Fi and 4G LTE built-in.

According to Windows Phone Central, AT&T and Verizon together with Microsoft and Nokia are planning to launch a huge fanfare for the release of the tablet, phablet and game console on November 22. The devices were originally scheduled for launch on November 15 but it was pushed back to November 22.

Verizon is expected to offer the Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet in both red and black and both will have 32GB of internal storage and LTE support. AT&T will only be offering the black color variant also with 32GB of internal storage and LTE support.

Many are awaiting how the market would respond to yet another Windows tablet. Some analysts suggest that the lack of apps for the Windows ecosystem limits the commercial appeal of the Nokia 2520, which looks strikingly similar to the Surface 2 by Microsoft.
Nokia’s mobile division is owned by Microsoft.
