Girls' Generation Taeyeon Starts Her Own YouTube Channel, Cover's Justin Bieber in First Upload

Girls' Generation member Taeyeon has opened her own official YouTube channel.

The 24-year-old singer is best known as a member of popular K-Pop girl group Girls' Generation, and has also achieved solo success for many original soundtrack songs over the years.

Taeyeon announced her YouTube channel through her Instagram account on January 4 and the first video uploaded is a cover version of Canadian pop star Justin Bieber's "Be Alright."

Just nine hours after the channel opened, it had over 62,000 subscribers and the "Be Alright" video had over 150,000 views, proving without a doubt that Taeyeon has a enormous fan following around the world.

As the leader of the nine-member pop group, it has been repeatedly suggested over the years that Taeyeon branch out and show off her individual singing and performing talents with an official solo career. Perhaps the new YouTube channel suggests such a move is not far off?

Last spring it seemed Taeyeon would be an instant success if she were to venture off on her own for a bit. On March 13, she dropped the hit song "And One" for the popular SBS TV drama That Winter, The Wind Blows and it instantly took over music download sites, debuting at number one on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100.

"And One" as with previous OST releases from Taeyeon, showcases her expressive vocals and the range of her singing talents.

Fans of the former Music Core host can tune into her YouTube channel HERE and follow Taeyeon's continuing success as one of K-Pop's biggest and brightest stars.
