Ke$ha Rehab Update: Ke$ha's Mom Says Bulimia and Anorexia Almost Killed Her Daughter

Ke$ha recently checked herself into rehab on Jan. 3 to treat her longtime bulimia and anorexia. Though rumors swirled that it was for alcohol abuse, KeSha's her mother, singer/songwriter Pebe Sebert, denied that Ke$ha is getting help for alcoholism. Ke$ha's mom says her daughter nearly died of starvation after desperately trying to lose weight.

Sebert said Kesha, 26, kept her eating disorder a secret until recently.

Pebe Sebert, Ke$ha's mom said her singer songwriter daughter nearly died from starvation stemming from her anorexia and bulimia. Sebert told People Magazine, "[The doctors] told me her blood pressure and sodium were so low they'd never seen that, except with someone who'd had a heart attack or stroke. They said it was a miracle she hadn't dropped dead on stage."

Just one week after Ke$ha checked into rehab, her mother Pebe Sebert checked herself into the same center.

KeSha's 57-year-old mom told People magazine "I'm checking myself into Timberline Knolls today for post-traumatic stress disorder, at Kesha's urging."

Sebert and Kesha are both being treated at Timberline Knolls outside of Chicago. It's the same clinic where Demi Lovato was treated for anorexia and bulimia. Lovato detailed her recovery in her book Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year.

Ke$ha's mom, Pebe Sebert, a Tennessee-born songwriter who frequently collaborates with her daughter. Maybe the two will write together while in treatment.

Sebert says Ke$ja "had a breakdown. She called me from the gas station and admitted how much she'd been throwing up. I just said, 'OK,' and called some [treatment] centers. Ke$ha agreed to talk to them, liked what they said, and basically cried until we got her there."

According to media reports, Ke$ha told friends that her eating disorder was caused by her music producer, Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, who had repeatedly called her a fat "f**king refrigerator."

Dr. Luke has vehemently denied that Kesha's eating disorders were caused by his weight bullying.

Pebe Sebert told Celebuzz that Kesha is being treated for bulimia. She says Ke$ha is not also being treated for alcoholism. Sebert said "That's a total lie. The place she's at is an eating disorder center. When [reports] say 'people close to her' I will tell you I travel with her everywhere, her little brother, her assistant, makeup artist, talk to anyone."

People writer Raha Lewis told ABC News "Kesha's mother told us that it was Dr. Luke, Kesha's producer, who had put pressure on her [Kesha] in regards to her weight, specifically she mentions that he had called her a refrigerator in the past, and this has put a lot of pressure on her. However, Dr. Luke's camp informed us that these allegations are completely false, and that he wishes Kesha the best on her healing journey."

Kesha is due to complete a 30-day stint at the treatment center. But  her mother hinted that she may stay longer. Ke$ha's mother is also a recovering alcohol and drug addict. Sebert says Ke$ha has been attending AA meetings with her since she was "just over a year old."
