BTS Rap Monster Shows Off His Singing And Composing Skills In 'Monterlude'

Rookie idol group Bangtan Boys (abbreviated BTS) are planning a comeback with a new album next month, and member Rap Monster has released a special track he prepared himself to pump fans up.

Rap Monster may only be 19-years-old, but as the group's leader, he has proven himself to be talented not only at singing and rapping, but also in writing and composing songs.

Through the BTS official Twitter account, the group released a short track by Rap Monster called "Monterlude," through a tweet reading, "Rap Monster's new song~~ new track."

At just over a minute and a half in length, the song features soothing vocals set to a simple, pleasant beat.

The lyrics sweetly confess innocent feelings of love to a girl and fits well with the theme of teenage love the group is said to be focusing on for their upcoming album, Skool Luv Affair.

Rap Monster himself explained his experience creating the song through the Bangtan Boys' Twitter account.

"When we were promoting 'No More Dream,' the interlude was so good that I wrote 'Monterlude' in my spare time," he wrote. "As it was a shame to just have my voice, Jungkook added some harmony~ Later, I will write up a rap and make it a bit longer. I wrote the whole melody! I hope you listen to it well."

Rap Monster is the only original member of the Bangtan Boys left after a series of lineup changes prevented the group from their original debut date in 2010. Since his official debut as the leader of BTS last summer, he has gained quite the fan following for his dabblings in music creation both with mixtape-type tracks and cover songs.

Rap Monster's cover of Canadian singer Drake's "Something" back in September gained a lot of attention on the internet for his flawless singing.

The Bangtan Boys plan to drop their next album Skool Luv Affair on February 12.
