Indian Pacers Lance Stephenson Releases Video To Campaign For Self In All-Star Games; However, What He Got Was A Fine. Find Out Why

Indiana Pacers has been making heads turn this season for his consistent performance. With him improving from season to season, his team has become one of the most complete squads in the NBA. Right now, Stephenson owns the league high three triple-doubles and while he averages 13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists. Because of his improved numbers, many has considered him for the NBA All-Star next month on February. Of course, the 23-year old player liked the idea and for that, he created and released a promotional video to make it to the annual basketball festivity.

The video, which now has more than 337,000 views, was entitled "Sir Lancealot" wants you to vote 4 Lance Stephenson for the NBA All Star." Stephenson was trying to convince his fans to vote for him through some highlights while dancing. It was 62 seconds long and was directed by a music director from Indiana.

As of last vote count, Stephenson is at 8th spot in guards position.

Speaking to the Indianapolis Star reporter Candace Buckner, the 2010 Draft 40th pick detailed the production of his video.

"I was just trying to do something different and have fun with it, also get everybody to vote for me at the same time," said Stephenson.

"Everybody is saying it's funny right now. I haven't really looked to see what people are tweeting about, so I'm going to see right now when I go to dinner." [...]

"I just like to do fun stuff, I'm just happy coach is in there."

In a separate interview, Stephenson also revealed that Pacers president Larry Bird was one of the first guys who praised his promotional video.

"He said, 'Hey, you did a good job. You should try being in a movie one day,' " Stephenson said. "He sent me a text and I was [relieved].

Fans and other NBA pundits loved the video. However, it was not enough to save him from fines imposed by the league for his flopping in game the Golden State Warriors. The NBA announced that Stephenson was fined $5,000 Tuesday afternoon for flopping, the second in his career. The incident occurred with 1:37 left in the 4th quarter during his team's victory over Warriors.
