KARA Will Make a Comeback this Year with Two New Members

DSP Media has announced that the agency will be recruiting two new members for KARA, replacing Nicole and Kang Jiyoung. This announcement was made to representatives at Enewsworld on January 29th and effectively addresses growing concerns from fans the KARA would be disbanded in 2014. Nicole, whose contract recently expired, is focusing on solo training in New York City. Kang Jiyoung's contract will expire in April and will not be renewed through DSP Media due to her desire to study abroad.

According to Enewsworld a DSP representative stated, "after we recruit two members, Kara will release a new song and comeback in the later half of the year." The representative from DSP when on to say that the newest members would be recruited, "in an acceptable and reasonable way for fans and the other members. We will release an official statement once we have specific plans."

There is speculation that the two new members will be derived from the current pool of trainees at DSP Media. When audiences initially learned about two members of KARA departing, there was great concern over whether or not Goo Hara would be leaving. Goo Hara remains one of the most popular members of the group. News that KARA will remain a five member group is definitely comforting for fans. Whether or not their sound or the group dynamic will change due to the evolution of their new line up remains unseen.
