YG Entertainment Partners Up With Modeling Company K PLUS

Record label and management agency YG Entertainment has been a fixture in the South Korean entertainment industry for quite some time now as one of the leading companies representing some of the nation's biggest stars.

Already considered a leader in K-Pop, on February 18 it was confirmed that YG has its sights set on much bigger things when it was revealed that they had teamed up with model management company K PLUS in a strategic partnership.

Set on a path for industry domination, YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk has been expanding the reach of his company for quite some time and has long been considered a leader in Korean pop music production boasting some of K-Pop's biggest and most internationally recognizable stars in addition to managing several well-known and talented actors and actresses.

The agency hopes to expand into the modeling market as well, hence the new partnership with K PLUS.

"Korean models are receiving just as much attention as K-Pop and Hallyu dramas and I anticipate the big potential of this field.," explained Yang on Tuesday. "Through the strategic partnership and investment with K PLUS, the pool of talent in the fashion-model field will be highlighted, as well as the business diversification and synergy to create a win-win situation."

The modeling component opens a whole new area for expansion for YG Entertainment, which has focused on expanding itself into a global company with strong holdings in all aspects of media and entertainment that expand well beyond its roots in music production.

Particularly with such artists as G-Dragon leading not just Korea, but the rest of the world in terms of fashion trends, the new partnership with K PLUS is an exciting move forward for YG.
