Stars Are Hopping On The Blogging Train

Stars are looking to share their own life information.

Singers Ivy, Jung Joon Young, Kahi, Rainbow's Jisook, actress Hwang Jung Eum, TV personality Clara... What do all these stars have in common? They are all power bloggers. Through their blogs these stars share what they've written, eaten, made, and places they've traveled to; they communicate directly with their fans through their blogs. In an age when SNS are becoming more predominant, why are stars blogging? And why do people look for such blogs?

Rainbow Jisook introduces her blog with the words, "Things I couldn't say through SNS." There are many stars that communicate with their fans through various SNS such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. However, they find it difficult to write long message through SNS. As such, they aren't able to share a bigger variety and more stories through SNS.

On her blog Jisook shares her creativity through nails, cooking, writing, and crafting. She also writes personal reviews of her own camera, cosmetics, and more.

In an interview with the media, Ivy shared her reason for blogging, and said, "I started a blog to communicate with the fans."

On Ivy's blog you'll find stories and information regarding yummy restaurants, pets, cosmetics, and other products.

Hwang Jung Eum shares personal day-to-day stories and writes posts regarding beauty and fashion. Clara also posts beauty tips for life, such as how to get a good night's sleep. Jung Joon Young has gathered a large number of followers with his cooking, so much so that he could be called a food blogger.

Stars gain the netizens' interests with their vivid stories. Although there might not be very many posts, there are many people that are starting to look for these stars' blogs.

Jung Joon Young has only about 55 posts, but the total number of visitors to the site total over 800,000. Hwang Jung Eum started blogging actively this January, but word quickly spread and there are fans interested in beauty, and are constantly seeking out her blog.

Blogs are being spotlighted because it gives an insight into stars' lives, but fans should be wary of advertisements. It's something that's a problem with non-celebrity bloggers, and can easily become a problem with celebrity bloggers as well.

Viral marketing has been activated, and blog marketing is becoming a point of contact. The influence of power bloggers are becoming bigger and bigger.

Celebrity bloggers have a significant influence. The makeup, camera, and restaurants that stars promote are quickly propagating online communities in real time. Netizens are sharing that "Broadcasts emanate advertising, but it's less so with blogs."

Even still, there are some celebrity blogs that are heavily sponsored, and fans tend to resist visiting these blogs. One blog promotes the celebrity's shopping mall, and is being met with a negative response. Even agencies are cautious when it comes to blogging.

Ivy's agency Polaris Entertainment said, "Since there are so many viewers, we receive many inquiries for advertising. Blogs are personal spaces, and since it's a place where stars share their personal stories, we are rejecting all such requests."
