Aaron Hernandez murder case trial and still ongoing but his former team, New England Patriots, is already reaping the consequences with at least $10 million in dead money. Court hearing is set to resume this summer.

The NFL team still owes $7.5 million in three bonus payments to Aaron Hernandez despite his murder case, which represents three quarters of the $10.38 million total "dead money" incurred by the team. Sportsworld  defines dead money as a compensation "due players who are no longer on the team roster."

The Patriots already cut the $40 million contract of Aaron Hernandez over his murder case but the team still ranks 15^th in dead money, said ESPN.

But there's a way around the Aaron Hernandez murder case row, said BostInno quoting Jason Fitzgerald of Over the Cap, the Patriots can clean their books if Aaron Hernandez is found guilty for his 2012 murder case because in that scenario, "he wouldn't have signed his extension in good faith:"

Fitzerald added that the Patriots are more interested in another case that Aaron Hernandez was supposedly involved in, apart from his double murder case, because that would mean he represented himself when he signed the contract extension.

Aaron Hernandez pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and illegal gun charges.

Although the next trial for the Aaron Hernandez murder case wasn't scheduled yet,Sports World said it would likely be in the summer in June.

The New England Patriots tight end was placed on isolation last month after he mauled an inmate for reportedly taunting him.

Aaron Hernandez was arrested on June 26, 2013 in North Attleborough, Mass. for his alleged involvement in the 2012 death of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player whose body was found about a mile of the home he shares with girlfriend, Shayanna Jenkins.
