First K-Pop Concert In Myanmar Was A Huge Success

Myanmar's first K-Pop concert was a huge success.

The show was held at the Thuwana Gymnasium on April 30th and was attended by Girl's Day, TINT, Dal Shabet, M.I.B, and Jung Il Young.

Thanks to the power of YouTube, Korean stars were able to make many fans throughout the small south Asian country. K-Pop fans of Myanmar were seen screaming and singing along with the idol groups that were performing throughout the night.

Most of the concertgoers were Burmese teenagers who recorded the performance of their favorite idol groups on their smartphones.

Thanks to organizers Pee Paw Entertainment from Myanmar and the South Korean DM Company, the concert was bigger than anyone had imagined it to be.

This groundbreaking concert in Myanmar served to strengthen the friendship and boost cultural exchanges between the two countries.

The profits from the concert will also be used to fund the Myanmar Taekwondo Federation President's Cup.

The first group to perform was girl group TINT. A fan who was at the event said, "Tint is a cute girl group. They aren't really tall; they were almost about the same height as me, but they were so cute with their white innocent dresses."

The fan added, "How do K-Pop stars get their hair to look so flawless? I will never know. I didn't even know about the group TINT until today. But I have to say, I've became their fan because they were super duper friendly; doing aegyo when asked."

After TINT, the beautiful ladies of Dal Shabet made the audience go crazy as they performed a few of their singles. The girls showed their love to the fans with heart signs.

Dal Shabet member Subin got the audience involved in the performance. "She was like 'I say Dal, you say Shabet!' or 'I say Ho, you say Hey!'," stated a fan.

After Dal Shabet, Jung II Young performed. The drama, "Autumn In My Heart" is really famous in Myanmar since it aired there in 2001.

"Autumn In my Heart" launched the Korean wave in Myanmar, prompting interest in South Korean music and culture. The audience was seen singing along when Jung II Young performed the OST single.

Male group M.I.B performed after Jung. The guys sang their recent single, "Chisa Bounce" along with a few of their other hits.

While they were performing, the guys told the audience to put their hands up, dance, and jump along with them. M.I.B was evidently surprised at how many fans they have in Myanmar and sincerely thanked the audience for the love and support.

The last performance of the night was from the gorgeous ladies of Girl's Day. They gave the audience a sampling of their hit singles including "Expectation", "Something", and "Female President." The audience screamed, sang along, and cheered as Sojin, Minah, Hyeri, and Yura Sang danced for the energetic crowd.

While the artists were in Myanmar, they all had yellow ribbons pinned to their shirts in remeberence of the recent ferry tragedy that caused hundreds of deaths in South Korea.
