2PM Jun.K-EXO-T-ARA Ranks High On Japan Oricon Weekly Chart

The expansion of Hallyu as well as the influence of K-Pop has been evident in Japan as of late.

Member of K-Pop group 2PM Jun.K ranked No. 2 on Japan's Oricon Weekly album chart on May 22 with his solo album that was recently released in Japan, titled "LOVE & HATE," according to Oricon.

"I want to show what I do. To be honest, everyone knows me as a 2PM member, but they don't know much about Jun.K," stated the 2PM member, according to Allkpop.

Jun.K added, "If I don't clearly show what I do and what I can do, then of course, people won't know. It's regretful that I only get to promote as a solo artist in Japan, but I want to show who Jun.K is through this opportunity."

The singer posed for a photo shoot with Singles magazine, showing off his good looks and charismatic style for his fans.

Jun.K has been singled out for his achievement because his solo album was written and produced by Jun.K himself. The idol member also collaborated with different Japanese artists for this solo album including SIMON, LANG LANG and AI, according to Yahoo Entertainment Singapore.

The 2PM member also started his solo tour in Japan this month. He will be performing in Sapporo on May 22 and Tokyo on May 27 and 28th.

The album sold 35, 701 copies for the second week of May.

Various idol groups and members were seen ranking high on Japan's Oricon Weekly Chart.

EXO-K and EXO-M's new mini-album "Overdose" each sold 21, 887 and 12, 562 copies and ranked No. 3 and No. 5 on the chart.

T-ARA's album, "Gossip Girls," sold 10, 463 copies and ranked at No. 7.

As K-Pop artists are getting more recognition in Japan, more musicians are releasing albums for their Japanese fans.

Korean actor Jang Geun-suk will be releasing an album in Japan under the name "Team-H" in June, according to The Inside Korea.

Jang released a second full album titled "Nature Boy" in Japan, which also topped the Oricon Daily Chart.
