Aaron Hernandez Murder Case [UPDATE]: Prosecutors Claim Legality On Seizure Of Tight End’s Home Security Footage; New England Patriots’ Player's Tattoo Inconclusive?

Aaron Hernandez's murder case prosecutors claimed that their petition to seize the security footage of the respondent's home security system is legal, as the New England Patriots' tight end's tattoo may prove difficult to link him to the crime.

According to The Sun Chronicle, citing court papers, assistant district attorney Roger Michel Jr. said they don't have to prove probable cause that Aaron Hernandez murdered Odin Lloyd on June 17, 2013 before taking hold of possible evidence.

The defense counsel in the Aaron Hernandez's murder case has filed a motion to quash the seizure.

"The defendant's motion is infected with a fundamental and pervasive defect in this regard," the court papers filed in Fall River Superior Court this week said.

Instead, the prosecution and the police only need to prove probable cause that the security footage are related to the investigation and the items are expected to be found "in the place to be searched."

The Fall River Superior Court scheduled the argument for the motion on Monday.

Meanwhile, Lisa Redmond wrote for Sentinel & Enterprise News that prosecutors are seeking tattoo artists in relation to the Aaron Hernandez's murder case might find it difficult to link him to the crime.

On most police forms, there's a box that asks witnesses or victims to check for unique scars, tattoos or marks that might identify the suspect. These inks are an "easy form of ID that does not entail the use of an expert," Lowell defense attorney Robert Normandin said, according to the publication.

However, theSentinel & Enterprise News quoted Todd Bettencourt, a tattoo artist in Aaron Hernandez' home in North Attleborough, as saying "some people just get it because it's cool."

Aside from the murder of Odin Lloyd, Aaron Hernandez was also arraigned for new slay charge in the drive-by assault on Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu in July 2012.
