‘Drop Dead Diva’ Season 7 Possible Despite Cancellation? Season 6 Finale ‘It Had To Be You’ Ends Jane And Grayson’s Story

Is "Drop Dead Diva" season 7 still possible despite the announcement that this season would be the last for the Lifetime hit series? Season 6 finale titled "It Had to be You" ended with Jane and Grayson's love story.

According to creator Josh Berman, in an interview with The Wrap earlier this year, they have been cancelled before and yet managed to stay at the top of the ratings after they were renewed.

"With our fan base and already seeing the petitions online and the movement to bring it back, I think anything is potentially possible," he said about the potential "Drop Dead DIva" season 7.

However, to cover his bases, Josh Berman is "definitely writing a final season" and it's a "real pleasure to write" because he does have advanced notice. True to his word, the creator did just that in last Sunday's finale.

"So, I'm definitely moving plot and story along in a way, but anything's possible. I mean look at 'The Killing,' which was brought back to life twice, I mean we've only been brought back to life once," he added hinting the possibility that there could be a "Drop Dead Diva" season 7.

Meanwhile, in the finale of "Drop Dead Diva" season 6, as stipulated in the official synopsis, "Owen and Kim try to talk some sense into Jane about her relationship with Ian. Meanwhile, Teri realizes that Ian is her former classmate, who is responsible for ruining her chances at stardom."

On the final episode of "Drop Dead Diva" season 6 on June 22, after much suspicion on Owen and Kim's part on Jane's relationship with Ian (the resurrected Grayson), they patched up at the end in time for Owen and Stacy's wedding.

The much anticipated wedding did not push through though as Stacy's water broke and they all rushed to the hospital for the birth of the twins.

The final episode of "Drop Dead Diva" season 6 concluded with Jane and Ian kissing after the latter sang his own rendition of "It Had to Be You."

Josh Berman told TVLine that the message of the show was that the physical appearance is not important as long as two souls love each other.

"Grayson fell in love with Deb in Jane's body, so it made sense for Deb -- as Jane -- to fall in love with Grayson in someone else's body," he said.
