Park Bom Fans Call For 'Roommate' Cancellation Should 2NE1 Singer Not Return

With Park Bom's tenure on "Roommate" still uncertain, some fans are calling for the cancellation of the series should the 2NE1 singer not return.

According to the Korean publication Naver, the producers of "Roommate" made the decision not to cut Park Bom out of the upcoming episodes since she filmed with many of her roommates. However, Park Bom is currently not filming with the 10 other residents of "Roommate" due to the recent drug scandal controversy.

Recently, SBS confirmed that the cast members of "Roommate" will be vacationing in Taiwan and Japan to celebrate their 100th day together.

Reportedly, Lee So Ra, Jo Se Ho, Nana, and Soo Hyun will depart for Taiwan on July 11. This is presumed to coincide with Chanyeol of EXO performing in Taipei on July 11 and July 12.

Meanwhile, Shin Sung Woo, Lee Dong Wook, Seo Kang Jun, Park Min Woo, and Song Ga Yeon will travel to Japan for a three-day-two-night vacation to commemorate "Roommate." Despite 2NE1's activities in Japan right now, Park Bom will allegedly not meet with the cast members.

As evidenced by YGLadies, reactions to Park Bom remain negative due to the recent controversy, and it is unknown when Park Bom will feel comfortable enough to return.

"I can't believe all the top comments are negative," commented Wai Leong. "They are so scary."

"If this show is really going to let Bom go, it should just end instead. The other 10 members would totally get uncomfortable with the fact they have to pretend the '11th' member never existed."

Reportedly, SBS's "Good Sunday" programming including "Running Man" and "Roommate" continues to suffer poor ratings, ranking last in their respective timeslots. As such, other observers also believe "Roommate" should be cancelled, regardless of Park Bom.

"'Roommate' really is quite the flop," wrote ewwbabo on allkpop. "Although there are people like Chanyeol and previously Bom, idols no matter how enormous their fandom is, can't bring in high viewership just because they have a lot of fans. The general public must all like a show to give the show good viewership."
