Maria Sharapova Falls Behind Eugenie Bouchard In Sexiest Tennis Player Poll, Under Fire For Unhealthy Sugarpova Lifestyle: Will Boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov Mind?

Maria Sharapova’s days as the queen of tennis has come to an end. The Russian tennis player has not only fallen behind Eugenie Bouchard in sexiest tennis player poll, but also is currently under fire for promoting unhealthy Sugarpova lifestyle. The bigger question is, will her boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov mind that Maria Sharapova is no longer the sexiest tennis player?

A recent poll conducted by Online Tennis Club titled, “Who is the hottest tennis player on tour?” revealed that Maria Sharapova has fallen out of most people’s radars. Ana Ivanovic took the top prize with 36%, followed by Eugenie Bouchard, the Canadian darling, with 26%. Maria Sharapova only managed to convince 8% of the people that she still has the it factor.

Seeing how Eugenie Bouchard, 20, was so adamant on not being “friends” with the Russian player, it looks like Eugenie has beaten her opponent in one arena.

The fact that she has been more open about her relationship with Grigor Dimitrov on Twitter probably didn’t help her ratings. But would the boyfriend mind that she has fallen so behind on popularity?

Maria Sharapova is also not the most popular athlete among the U.K. parliament right now. Chair of the home affairs select committee and Labour MP Keith Vaz has been working to bring down Maria Sharapova’s candy endeavor, Sugarpova, citing promotion of unhealthy lifestyle as the reason.

The 27-year-old Russian player has invested half a million dollars to promote the Sugarpova brand during 2014 Wimbledon.

According to Tennis World, Keith Vas stated that “All sportsmen and women are supposed to promote a healthy lifestyle. A brand like Sugarpova encourages a large and excessive consumption of sugar”.

Tom Sanders, professor at King’s College, first launched an attack at Maria Sharapova’s candy business, saying that "Athletes haven't been allowed to endorse and promote cigarettes 30 years ago. It's time to take action towards those who try to promote a unhealthy food consumption and therefore unhealthy lifestyle”.

Despite the disapprovals, Maria Sharapova still has her head in the game.

Her boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov has pulled out of a tournament in Washington D.C. due to an illness.
