Andy Murray paid no attention to the critics that blamed his coach Amélie Mauresmo for his early exit at Wimbledon 2014. He has committed to a ‘long-term’ working relationship with coach Amélie Mauresmo. We wonder if he has the same time frame for his relationship with his girlfriend of almost 9 years, Kim Sears. Right now though, the Scottish tennis player is busy getting his mind in the game for the Rogers Cup in Toronto.

The Guardian reports that Andy Murray will not be changing his coach Amélie Mauresmo despite all the speculations after Wimbledon 2014 when the Scotsman was defeated by the 23-year-old Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov.

Murray told the publication that “We’ve agreed to work together and I think both sides were willing to do what it takes to make it work long-term”.

“I really enjoy working with her. She’s helped me a lot,” he said. “She has integrated well with the rest of the team. It’s been a good start. Now it’s about me producing the results.”

Andy and his coach Amélie Mauresmo also have a lot of fun together, doing “Cold Plunge Challenge” during their off hours.

His early exit resulted in a descent in the WTA rankings, but Andy Murray was still able to stay in the top 10.

It looks like Andy Murray is good at “long-term” relationships when it comes to girlfriends. He has been with Kim Sears since he was a wee boy. Despite the alleged couple drama at Wimbledon 2014, the pair seems to be doing swimmingly. With all the critics and gossip writers having an opinion on everything he does, it’s a good thing that Andy Murray suffers no fools.

Before Wimbledon 2014 tournaments, there was a brief spurt of drama when Andy Murray jokingly declared that he and Kim Sears will get married after the grass court season. The Scotsman likes his jokes. Looks like Kim Sears and his coach Amélie Mauresmo do as well.
