Will Red Velvet's Seulgi and Super Junior's Kyuhyun become the next SM couple after Baekhyun and Taeyeon?

It began last August when Kyuhyun discussed his feeling toward female idols on "Radio Star."

"I don't really like people who are that famous," said the Super Junior member. "I think appearance-wise, they are pretty, but it's not that I like them like that... I feel really burdened if the girl is really famous and a big star."

From this, f(x) members Sulli and Krystal mentioned Seulgi as an SM Entertainment trainee that might fit Kyuhyun's taste. Kyuhyun was eventually pushed to send a video message to Seulgi.

"Seulgi, I hope you're practicing well. I hope you'll debut and become successful," said the 26-year-old.

"And don't become too famous!"

Now that Seulgi has debuted as a part of Red Velvet, she was asked how she felt about the Super Junior senior on SBS Power FM's "Kim Chang Ryul's Old School."

"I saw that Kyuhyun and I are always linked on search portals," said the 20-year-old.

Radio DJ Kim Chang Ryul then followed by asking what the singer would say if Kyuhyun asked her out.

"Kyuhyun, I respect you," said the surprised Red Velvet member.

"Two words," commented sangchu27 on allkpop. "Friend. Zone."

"I think she gave a very appropriate answer," added beep90 on August 7.

Since their interview on the radio show, observers have had positive reactions to the personalities of Red Velvet despite earlier controversies.

"Lesson learned for me, don't judge someone until you see who they are," wrote kpopinmee. "These girls are super adorable. I love the song."
