Details regarding the funeral proceedings for departed Ladies’ Code member RiSe (Kwon Ri Se) were revealed, following a statement from Polaris Entertainment which confirmed her death. 

RiSe will be honored through a wake at Korean University Anam Hospital, the same hospital where her fellow group member EunB was laid to rest.  In a statement issued to Nate, representatives from Polaris Entertainment have stated that her funeral will be held on September 9 at the Korean University Anam Hospital at 9AM KST. 

On September 3, the members of Ladies’ Code along with staff and a driver were involved in a serious vehicle accident, as they traveled back to Seoul from Daegu. It is common for K-Pop groups to travel in vans together during activities.

EunB was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident while RiSe and Sojung were critically injured. RiSe endured a four day struggle, following more than ten hours of multiple surgeries on September 3.

RiSe suffered from head trauma following the accident and remained unconscious following surgery. RiSe did not regain consciousness to know that EunB had passed away.

On September 7, Polaris Entertainment confirmed that RiSe passed away at 7:10 AM KST.

Koreaboo has provided English translation of a report issued by Korean media outlet OSEN regarding the sentiment surrounding RiSe’s family, from the time they rushed to her bedside to her untimely death.

RiSe was under the care of a family friend during her time in Korea, while her family resided in Japan.

Her family friend was the first to arrive at the hospital but was instructed to wait for RiSe’s family to arrive.

The family arrived in the afternoon and were shocked at the state of their loved one. According to the OSEN report, RiSe’s mother fiercely guarded her hospital room and was tearful after initially only spending forty minutes with her.

In the narrative, representatives from Polaris Entertainment displayed compassion for the family and the horrific circumstances which had occurred.

RiSe was only twenty-three years old and had yet to make a full impact on the Korean entertainment industry.
