2PM Member Jun.K To Become K-Pop’s Top Producer?

2PM member Jun.K is stepping away from the idol spotlight for a hot second.

The Korean pop star will be producing Japanese entertainer Yamasita Tomohisa new album, according to the Korean media outlet Osen Entertainment.

Jun.K will be producing the track "Broadia," which was written by the Japanese artist, according to JYP Entertainment. The song will be released on October 8 as a part of Tomohisa's new album "You."

Jun.K, who has been described as "a grandpa in his daily life and a young person when he's doing music" by his bandmate Nichkhun, already has a solid fan base in Japan, which makes his recent producing project all the more exciting.

The K-pop star successfully held a solo tour in Japan in May of this year, performing for fans in Fukuoka, Chiba, Nagoya, Sapporo and Tokyo, according to the media outlet Star N News.

Jun.K has been gaining a lot of attention as of late for taking on the role of producer for his group 2PM's fourth studio album and eighth Japanese single "Go Crazy."

The artist also wrote, composed and produced his own Japanese solo album titled "Love & Hate," which ranked No. 1 on the Oricon Music Chart in Japan soon after its release. Jun.K also produced fellow K-pop group GOT7's debut single "SO LUCKY," which will be released on October 22.

Jun.K has been associated only as a member of 2PM since his debut with the group, but the singer has officially stepped out of the shadows to prove that he can fly solo.

"I want to show what I do. To be honest, everyone knows me as a 2PM member, but they don't much about Jun.K. If I don't clearly show what I do and what I can do, then of course, people won't know. It's regretful that I only get to promote as a solo artist in Japan, but I want to show who Jun.K is through this opportunity," Jun.K said in an interview with the magazine Singles.
