Jessica Sparks Lawsuit Rumors After Visit To Law Firm Of JYJ's Former Lawyer

Girls' Generation member Jessica was notified this week that she is no longer a part of the K-pop group.

The idol member reportedly went to lawyer Lim Sang Hyuk's firm in Myeongdong, Seoul, sparking speculation that she might be preparing to file a case against her former management company, SM Entertainment.

"Most celebrities choose to call the office to discuss things first so it was odd to see Jessica actually come into the firm herself. We're suspecting she wanted to speak with a professional lawyer to discuss the issue at hand," an associate of the law firm told the Korean publication Sports Seoul

Details of who Jessica met with or what she spoke about are reportedly being kept under wraps.

When asked if he's in charge of Jessica's legal case during a phone interview, Lim Sang Hyuk reportedly responded with, "I'm not involved in the case. I haven't even met her."

Lim was responsible for the case filed by former TVXQ members Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong when they attempted to get out of a contract with SM Entertainment. The group was able to successfully get out of the contract and form their current group JYJ

Jessica informed K-pop fans about what had happened via social media in both English and Korean early Tuesday morning, according to The Korea Times.

"I was excited about our upcoming fan events only to shockingly be informed by my company and 8 others that as of today, I'm no longer a member," the former Girls' Generation member wrote on her Weibo account.

She added, "I'm devastated -- my priority and love is to serve as a member of GG, but for no justifiable reason, I am being forced out."

SM Entertainment released a statement in response to Jessica's post.

"This coming spring, due to her personal situation, she has notified us she will halt her team promotions with the release of one [more] album. Despite Jessica's sudden notice, the agency and the Girls' Generation members tried our best and tried to figure out a way that Girls' Generation's activities can continue in the best possible direction. However, in the midst of insufficient negotiations regarding conflicts of difference in priorities and interest, Jessica started her fashion business. Due to this, despite ongoing talks, it has come to a point where the team could not be maintained," the management company announced in an official statement, according to the media outlet SBS.
