Woollim Entertainment Issues Second Statement About Seo Jisoo Harassment Scandal [UPDATED]

As the media and netizens reeled from the scandal surrounding Lovelyz' Seo Jisoo, Woollim Entertainment released a second statement.

On November 9, Woollim Entertainment released an initial statement saying that it was looking into rumors surrounding a member of the soon-to-debut girl group Lovelyz. On November 11, the entertainment agency released a second, longer notice about further actions that it will take in regards to the malicious rumors.

Seo Jisoo was embroiled in a pre-debut controversy that revolves around her pas relationships, sexuality, personality, reasoning for joining Woollim Entertainment, and accused Seo Jisoo of blackmailing ex-lovers. The people who are propagating the rumors continued with even harsher stories that defaced Seo Jisoo's character after Woollim's first announcement, leading to Woollim Entertainment intensifying and clarifying what actions it will take.

The entertainment agency's words were very frank and addressed the worst of the rumors being spread.

"This is a notice from Woollim Entertainment. Regarding the rumors circulating about Lovelyz Seo Jisoo, they are absolutely false."

The post also included explanations as to how the pictures were on public forums and messengers.

"Woollim Entertainment has commissioned an investagation at the Mapo Police Station on November 10," the message continued.

"If you are honorable, the real victim needs to appear. The issue has grown and you cannot hide behind the Internet."

"The world is pointing fingers at one girl prior to her debut and this incident has become publicized to the point that it will be difficult for her to live as a celebrity, much less as a human being," the company continued. "We beg of you. Please appear. If your reason for not coming forward is because you're a sexual minority, then do not pretend to be a victim. If you really think you have a good case, come to the police station and cooperate with us."

"This is about the life of a girl," Woollim insisted. "If Seo Jisoo did even one thing wrong, we will take all legal responsibility."

"Posting false information indiscrimantely, hiding your identity, to spread the story and gain curiosity about a celebirity forces damage. Even after the investigation is completed and the truth is revealed, "I'm sorry" will not hide the rumor and the reality is that it will leave someone wounded."

"To the public and the reporters, I am making my final request. [Seo Jisoo] is someone's precious daughter, someone's friend, someone's younger sister. I am earnestly asking. I would like to prevent any further damage," the statement concluded.

Lovelyz will debut on November 17 with their first album, after holding a showcase on November 12.

NOTE: Translations aided by Google Translate. Due to Korean grammar, some things have been altered. It is unclear whether the CEO is the narrator or just Woollim Entertainment in general.

UPDATE: The Mapo Police Station's Cyber Crime's unit has requested warrants to search for the people spreading the rumors.
