However, in contrast to how many times he repeats "Gangnam Style" in the song, the actual city of Gangnam does not show up much in the video.

There are more than 10 different locations seen in this video and only 2 of the scenes are actually in Gangnam.

All the other locations are places far from Gangnam. The sauna scene, elevator scene, bathroom scene and others are filmed in places like Gyung-Gi Do or Incheon.

YG Entertainment stated, "The main point and concept of this video was to dance with a serious face in locations that are familiar to most people." The scenes seen in the music video do reflect a neighborhood that could be anyone's.

The lyrics match perfectly with the song as Psy sings about him being 'Gangnam Style' when actually he is just too full of himself and a bit of a country boy. This funny contrast is seen throughout Psy's previous albums as well.

In short, this music video is all about 'Gangnam Style' but not actually shot in Gangnam.

Gangnam is currently trying to have Psy become an honorary ambassador for Gangnam as he is spreading the word about Gangnam worldwide.
