LeBron James Launches #23Acts Campaign, Cleveland Cavaliers Star Wishes His Kids Had More Awareness Of Hardship [PHOTO]

When LeBron James isn't on the court with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he is busy making a difference in the lives of others. CBS Sports reports that James put a lot of work into community service during All-Star Weekend despite his many other obligations, and also launched the #23Acts campaign.

According to Akron Schools, the campaign featured 23 acts of kindness and giving in New York City and Brooklyn over the course of the weekend. The website states, "From Times Square to the South Bronx, LeBron's team covered New York's most diverse expanses, delivering everything from sleeping bags at a homeless shelter to brand new Nike uniforms to a women's varsity basketball team (the playoff-bound Sharks' first official uniform set)."

If you would like to see highlights of the journey, the team chronicled their deeds in partnership with Facebook Sports. Furthermore, social highlights from all of the acts can be found on the Foundation's Facebook page.

One of the acts of kindness James took part in was an event at the Boys and Girls Club of New York, where he unveiled a new refurbished basketball court. He also answered questions posed by his audience as well as by members on Facebook. One question in particular elicited an interesting answer from James, where he revealed that he wishes his kids knew more about the hardships of others.

The question was posed, "As your kids have always lived in the lap of luxury, how do you raise them with an awareness of the challenges you have lived through?" James responded, "It's challenging for me for sure, because my kids will never be able to experience the things I experience. And I never wanted them to, that's why I worked as hard as I did."

He continued, "But sometimes you wish you could, have them experience a little something, just a little of the hardships that I had as a kid. But you give them the blueprint, you give them the advice, you give them the love, and it's up to them what path they choose."
