Se7en’s Departure From YG Entertainment Possibly Due To Busy Release Schedule Of WINNER, iKON And CL

Since YG Entertainment is typically known for retaining its artists well into their career, it was arguably shocking to hear that Se7en would not return after the end of his mandatory military service.

Recently, a theory has surfaced as to why Se7en and YG Entertainment split, despite being on amicable terms. A report from Sports Donga proposes that given the upcoming extremely busy schedule of the company, it may have been necessary to allow Se7en to pursue his career where he would be given the utmost priority.

That is to say, with a comeback from WINNER and debuts of both iKON and CL, YG Entertainment may have had to delay Se7en's comeback for a year in order to give him the same support they gave him during his earlier releases.

According to a source at Allkpop, it would appear that YG Entertainment still has every motivation to help Se7en with his career despite no longer being an agent at the company:

"Since Se7en currently does not have an agency, it seems YG was looking after him. Since he is no longer an artist under the agency, they probably won't be able to help him directly, but it seems they'll try to help him behind the scenes," explained the source.

Although the theory from Sports Donga is unconfirmed by any official YG Entertainment employees or Se7en himself, it seems plausible. One thing that YG Entertainment is known for is its deep ties between the artist and the company, so it makes sense that if they could not provide him with the necessary means as they prepare for huge releases of their other artists.

As for Se7en's current future, it looks as though he's looking at his new found free time as a chance to relax after years of success and his military service. Hopefully for Se7en fans though, he'll make a musical comeback soon.
