Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan Talks About How He Would React If Kanye West Would Interrupt Him; Blames Social Media For Wrong Impression

The flurry of ranting musicians toward Kanye West doesn't seem to stop, after Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan stated on Australian national TV what he thinks of the rapper's antics.

In a report by Spin, Corgan recently appeared in an Australian morning show wherein he talked about the music scene and his new album. Included in the interview, he stated his sentiment regarding West's "inappropriate" behavior during the recently held Grammys.

As previously reported, the "Bound" rapper went on stage to "steal the spotlight" from Beck, who was awarded album of the year.

"I think it's inappropriate for any artist to take somebody else's moment and make it their own," Corgan said in the interview. "In that particular moment you're basically saying that everything that Beck's done to be in that position is negated because in your own mind it's not relevant to you, or your own thing."

"I didn't think that's the moment to do it. Maybe afterwards you can say that, you can put it in your own blog. But to jump on stage and steal that moment, to re-appropriate it in your own way I think is inappropriate."

The rock star continued by blaming the social media for the wrong impression the situation has done.

"The problem with the social media era is the Grammys will be rewarded for bad behavior and so by extension will Kanye," he said. "It really should be a celebration of accomplishment and it becomes another version of high school."

Meanwhile, the musician also stated that if ever West would do that to him, a different outcome could have possibly happened.

"If someone got up on my stage I'd knock him or her out. I don't care who it is I would've knocked them out," the Smashing Pumpkins vocalist said.
