Editor's Pick: Virgo's 'Drive' Featuring Vocalist Sorri Will Make You Feel Like You're In A Movie [AUDIO]

Listening to "Drive," released on Tuesday by Seoul-based band Virgo, is like stepping onto the silver screen.

The latest installment of a series of recent singles bearing the same album cover in different colors, the highly cinematic "Drive" is a transcendent jam, with Virgo once again proving themselves to be one of the most inventive acts in the South Korean pop landscape.

Though Virgo is often labeled a rock band, this is really a misnomer. They are a rock band to the same extent that Daft Punk or Air is a rock band.

Like those acts, Virgo use live instrumentation along with expertly utilizing electronic technology to provide the perfect color for whichever guest star they are working with. But make no mistake; though they play their own instruments, Virgo is a K-pop act with the skills to match the best of them.

And speaking of guest stars, it would be criminal to not mention the hypnotic performance of Sorri on "Drive." The singer takes the song to soaring emotional heights, all without breaking the song's intoxicating spell.

Like past Virgo collaborator Roller Coaster frontwoman Cho Won Seon, Sorri perfectly matches the group's transformative sound perfectly; delivering a performance that is the ideal blend for their tasteful playing over a tastefully constructed drum loop.

The members of Virgo should not be overlooked simply as musicians either.

The fretless electric bass, wah-wah electric piano and soaring distorted electric guitar provide the perfect launching ground for the keyboard madness that follows in the chorus.

For a band to be able to blend live and electro sounds this seamlessly is a rare and precious thing to behold.
