JYJ's Kim Jaejoong Promises Fans That A New Album Will Be Released After He Heads To Army

Goodbyes are sad, but Kim Jaejoong is making it a sweet farewell for his fans.

JYJ's Kim Jaejoong is enlisting in the Korean army on March 31 and will be gone for a little under two years. But during his last fan meet in Korea, the singer-actor surprised fans with the announcement of a new album to be released during his military service.

On January 28, Jaejoong met fans for the last time in Seoul at "The Beginning of the End" fanmeet.

"I didn't want to have a gap (during the service period) so I prepared a lot for a month prior to entering the service," said Kim, reported K-Pop Herald.

During "The Beginning of the End," Kim performed several of his older songs, as well as new ones like "Good Morning Night" and "Breathing."

The album has no set release date, but will be Kim's second solo studio album. The singer released his first solo mini-album "I" in 2013, and his first regular album the same year.

JYJ's entertainmeny agency, C-Jes, updated fans regarding Kim Jaejoong's impending enlistment. The company asked that fans respect Kim's wishes to enlist quietly, without fanfare as he heads out of civilian life into his military duty.

Kim's March 31 enlistment date is the same as Lee Sungmin of Super Junior. The two were both under SM Entertainment in 2009, when Kim and the two other members of JYJ, Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu, left SM Entertainment idol group TVXQ.

Despite his March 31 enlistment date, Kim was determined not to be saddened during his final fan meeting for the next 21 months.

"One year and nine months can feel like a long period, but it will pass by quickly," said Kim. "So I won't cry today but say a farewell with a smile."
