For the first time since Jessica Jung's departure, Girls' Generation is making their comeback, and some might be surprised by the reception to "Catch Me If You Can."

On Thursday, SM Entertainment released the music video for "Catch Me If You Can." And while Jung's departure is fueling much of the discussions, observers are also noting the song's vocal distribution, highlighting members who typically receive the least amount of lyrics.

"Yuri got a ton of lines, Hyoyeon got a ton of lines," noted YouTube music critic MRJKPOP.

"YoonA really surprised me with her vocals. I never thought she was a bad singer before but I had no idea she was capable of doing something like that. [And] they actually let Sunny sing in her normal register of her voice and not just doing those higher accent parts."

Other Girls' Generation fans also feel that Jessica's departure is allowing more room for some of the current members to shine.

"Finally Hyoyeon gets more attention," commented YouTube viewer Haru on Friday. "I miss Jessica but I feel like now that they're eight, they can all have more singing opportunities and no one gets to be the middle person. I like it."

Another reason for the additional emphasis on Yuri and Hyoyeon could be the rumor of a new Girls' Generation subunit featuring Yuri, Hyoyeon and Sooyoung called "SHY."

The rumor has been ongoing since last year, but on Tuesday, Sooyoung uploaded a video featuring the trio on Instagram, using the hashtag #SHY.

Last September, both Jessica and SM Entertainment confirmed her departure from Girls' Generation, with Jung alleging that the launch of her fashion company was the catalyst for the dismissal.
