Brown Eyed Girls Member Gain Touts Freedom Of Expression In Recent Interview With ELLE

Brown Eyed Girls member Gain released her Hawwah mini-album in March. The fierce soloist had a relaxed pictorial and interview in the April issue of Elle, where she discussed her "sexy" image, freedom of expression and even styling choices for her comeback.

The photoshoot was called Woman in Lost Paradise and featured Gain lounging around an empty apartment in casual clothes, while playfully avoiding the camera.

During the accompanying interview, Gain tackled the negative connotations of her "sexy" image head on. She expressed, "They ask me a lot about the definition of sexy, but I don't understand why the word sexy has to be bad. For example, a girl who just turned 20 years old can be very sexy, but if I say something like that, I become the bad person. I mean, a girl is saying another girl is sexy. Then again, everyone likes to be called sexy. I want to ask someone who isn't sexy, 'Do you like it?'"

Gain also had straightforward words for critics of her wardrobe. She stated, "It's just my image. It's not like I'm trying to wear something short and seduce someone. I just wear it because I want to. I don't really care about what others think. It just happened like that. If it really bothers someone, they should buy me clothes."

The idol also revealed why she decided to dye her hair a vibrant green-blue for her promotions. She explained, "...I just made the decision thinking that I won't be able to dye my hair this color when I'm over 30 years old."

Recently, Gain talked about Korean censorship and the possibility promoting in the U.S. with American music magazine Billboard.
