SHINee's "Ring Ding Dong" surprised K-pop fans by appearing on Twitter's trending worldwide list earlier this week.

Fans are used to seeing newly released songs trending worldwide, but with "Ring Ding Dong" being almost six years old many were curious how the track managed to make its way onto the list.

On July 7, SHINee's main vocalist Jonghyun treated fans to an a Capella version of the old song during a special live airing of his radio show Blue Night with Jonghyun . In addition to singing a short sample, Jonghyun discussed SHINee's well-known track which caused the keyword to pop up on Twitter and Korean search portals according to WowTV. "Ring Ding Dong" even overtook Girls' Generation's new song "Party," released on July 7 as well, on the list.

"Ring Ding Dong" also made a reappearance during SHINee's guest feature on SNL Korea back in May. Members Jonghyun, Minho, Onew made audiences laugh as the ringing of a door bell sparked their iconic "Ring Ding Dong" dance.

SHINee recently finished promotions for their latest comeback album Odd and are currently in the process of completing their repackage album. Until then, fans can continue to catch Jonghyun on Blue Night with Jonghyun every night at midnight KST.
