Despite ongoing negotiations about his membership in EXO, it looks like Tao is still able to keep active in his home country of China.

Luckily for his fans, he could soon be making a solo comeback.

According to reports, Tao has been spotted recording in his new solo studio in China in preparation for a solo album due out on July 13. Additionally, several photos of Tao have also surfaced of the artist practicing a new dance, hinting that fans can expect Tao to offer a full set of promotions for his new release.

So far, fans are expressing much excitement at the prospect of a Tao solo project.

"I can't wait for people to see what Hailangs already know - Tao's amazing talent," said Jasmine Hall.

Koreaboo reports that in addition to his new recording photos, Tao was also recently spotted in a selfie with Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Tayla Parx. Perhaps the photo hints at a possibly collaboration that may appear on the album, or in the future.

Unfortunately, the solo activities seem to confirm that the delicate threads holding Tao to EXO will soon be cut. Recently, Tao was removed as a member of EXO-M on their official Facebook page, leading many to believe an official confirmation of his departure is only a matter of time.

SM Entertainment however has only commented that negotiations are still ongoing, after Tao was confirmed to be absent for the promotion of EXO's album repackage "Love Me Right."

"It cannot be confirmed whether Tao is staying or leaving. Negotiations are still ongoing," said the SM Entertainment Representative.

The Korean entertainment label has further explained that they are hoping for a positive relationship while Tao continues his activities in China.

"We have heard the news of Tao's personal workshop. We are currently in discussion for an ongoing progressive direction," explained another SM Entertainment Rep.

Hopefully the situation regarding Tao's membership in EXO will soon be resolved. In the meantime, at least his fans will soon be able to see the artist performing again.
