It's fantastic, or maybe dope, but two K-pop groups have songs with the same name this summer.

In June, BTS released the song "Dope," and on August 5, Big Bang's subunit GD&T.O.P will release a song called "Fantastic." Although the two songs seemingly have no connection in English, they share the same title in Korean.

The Korean word "jjeolleo" (쩔어) is a slang term that can mean anything from being extremely awesome or splendid to being total and utter crap or terrible.

BTS's song was officially called "Dope," while YG Entertainment's blog translated the upcoming song from Big Bang members G-Dragon and T.O.P to mean "Fantastic." Early translations of the song title also included "Sick."

According to Korean media outlets, Korean netizens (Internet citizens) have found the situation to be "strange," since having the same song title is usually viewed negatively because it will alter search engine results.

This isn't the first time K-pop groups have released songs with the same name. In 2014, TVXQ and Girl's Day each released a song called "Something." 

The same year, Girls' Generation's song "Mr. Mr" came under fire from an idol group named MR.MR whose agency expressed anger over the fact that the less well-known idol group would be knocked down on search engines. MR.MR released a diss song by the same name, "Mr. Mr." aimed at Girls' Generation. 

Fans commenting on Big Bang's official Facebook announcement of the new song spoke about the similar title.

Some fans were concerned about the similarity. 

Cynthia Courvoisier wrote, "I'm afraid about this new song, now..."   

Most people expressed excitement, since BTS is known to be a fan of Big Bang.

"Seeing the title, I automatically sang BTS's 'Jjeolleo'," wrote Hailiie Russell. "I bet both will be equally as amazing. And, I also bet [that] V & Kookie [V and Jungkook of BTS] will be fanboying right now over the shared song title."
